Fridays get all the fame and glory, now I propose a challenge for the saddest day of the week…for most people. I invite you to a Monday Challenge.
We are 3 months into the New Year. How are your resolutions going? Did you set any goals? What are your priorities? Are your days and weeks filled with ‘shoulds’ versus ‘wants’?
Mondays can be thought of as a New Year as well. It’s the start of a brand new week. It’s filled with possibilities and opportunities. Only thing that can make the biggest impact as to how it will play out is YOU!
The way you start a week can impact how the rest of the days will follow and will help get the momentum going to live a richer, happier, more satisfying life.
Remember Newtons First Law of Motion: The tendency of a body in motion is to keep moving, the tendency of a body at rest is to keep still.
Whatever big goal you may have, break it down and see what’s the smallest action you can take that not only will move you in the direction of your goal but also start you off on a positive note and feeling accomplished.
Whether you want to lose weight, stop smoking, exercise more, meditate, read, spend time with your loved ones or anything else you’ve been putting off or not able to do as much as you want.
Make sure that the goals you wish to accomplish are YOUR goals. Meaning it’s not for anybody else or things you think you ‘should’ do. Your goals are your goals based on what makes you feel happy, loved and accomplished.
If you’d like to participate, you can take today and this weekend to clear your space, both physical and electronic so you are ready to go Monday morning.
There are no rules just simple suggestions that will support you during this challenge!
Congratulations, you are almost there!
Before you begin your day and the new week, take a few minutes to just be. Be in the present moment and acknowledge how you feel.
Once you write everything down, look at your calendar and break down your goals into each day. If you have a big goal or something that’s been on the back burner and you don’t know where to start, break it down into smaller, more manageable tasks.
The more specific you are, the more likelier the outcome! Be specific in what you want, how much and when!
The letter/your goals should be centered around the following questions:
1. What makes you happy?
2. What do you want to achieve this week?
3. Who are the people you want to see and spend time with?
4. What new place/event/activity do you want to see or try?
5. What can I eliminate from my life and environment that does not bring me any use or joy?
Do not over think it, just write out whatever comes to mind first. There’s a reason it came to your mind!
I would love to hear from you! Let me know what’s the one action you are beginning to do first thing Monday morning and how it’s affecting the week that follows.
Spring is just around the corner. Let this challenge be a way to spring clean your mind, body and spirit and get you closer to feeling happy and satisfied in your personal and professional life.
Please feel free to share any ideas, tips and advice that has helped you get the momentum going into living a fulfilled life.
See you Monday!
